Not Just a Vape Girl Anymore: CAKE Drops First Flower Line

As someone who’s worked in and reviewed the industry for almost ten years, I’ve become very picky with flower—especially in California, where the industry is changing fast and legacy feels more like a buzzword than a backbone. So when I heard CAKE She Hits Different was stepping into the flower game, I did a mental double-take.
This pause was not because I doubted their ability. I love their vapes, but because expanding in today’s Cali market goes against what nearly every other brand is doing. But according to co-founder Jason Longo, that’s exactly the point.

“We see opportunity when others live in fear,” Longo said. “Our strategy is simple: deliver top-tier product, stay nimble, and keep it simple.”
Simple doesn’t mean safe, though. This isn’t quick-fix indoor flower engineered under LEDs. CAKE is launching with sun-grown and mixed-light strains, partnering with cultivators who treat the plant as actual art, not just commodity.
“Sungrown farmers are the best in practice,” Longo said. “They’ve mastered their environment. As Hawaiians say, ‘Malama ʻāina.’ We’re caregivers of the land, not owners.”
In other words: sungrown flower is grown with reverence—a reverence that the consumer is meant to feel from spark to exhale.
CAKE didn’t just scoop up whatever was available, slap a label on it, and call it expansion. According to Longo, their partners had to share an “obsession with flavor, consistency, and execution.”
“Cultivation partners had to be more than just compliant,” Longo said. “They had to be artists with a deep respect for genetics and post-harvest process. We’ve cultivated good relationships through our stewardship of caregiving for this beautiful cannabis plant.”
The result was flower that carries the same signature hit CAKE fans know and love from their vapes, but in the plant’s most natural, old-school form.
But why now?
“We’re known for engineering the smoothest hit in a vape,” Longo said, “It only makes sense to deliver the same standard in flower. Flower is the perfect complement. It is where our oil comes from in the first place, so we wanted to showcase the cannabis plant at its genesis.”
The vibe CAKE’s chasing isn’t about hype: it’s about harmony. With this new line, the brand aims to deliver a smooth exhale after a long day: that first laugh after the weight lifts, the tiny ritual that reconnects you to yourself.
“We want CAKE flower to feel like a reward for getting through your day,” Longo said. “It’s not just about getting high—it’s about reconnecting to what matters.”
And in a time when California’s cannabis industry feels like it’s holding its breath, CAKE is choosing to exhale.
